The couple wanted to get married in a tropical setting that neither of them had previously visited, “This really narrowed down our options, we looked at Panama, Mexico and Costa Rica. Whenever Costa Rica was brought up the enthusiasm was overwhelming and this is what won us over,” explains Kathi.

I would say that as soon we made our minds up about what we wanted it was very simple to pull the wedding together.”

Erin Little at Oasis Weddings, located in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica, was in charge of the wedding coordination, transforming the main level of Casa Fantastica into a glamorous tropical setting with custom made decorations. Kathi makes an important cultural observation, “I think it’s important to keep in mind when planning that Tico time and US time are very different things. There isn’t the same urgency to get an answer quickly, so patience comes in handy.”

For Kathi, her destination wedding and honeymoon in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica was filled with happy memories. “Jeff’s face when he first saw me, the band that everyone wished played all night, the beautiful wedding ceremony and somehow…. the sunset matched my coral wedding dress!”
