Adventures with Purpose, “Costa Rica: Quest for Pura Vida”
In this fascinating one hour documentary Bangs explores what the exceptionality of Costa Rica. Travelling for 16 days through a series of Costa Rica’s most beautiful regions, Bangs and his team explored the Peninsula de Osa and the Corcovado National Park, the Cloud Forest in Monteverde via Palo Verde, Punta Islita and the Pacuare River as well as the Tortuguero National Park in the Caribbean.

This Costa Rican documentary was shown privately for the first time in the U.S on the 13th of September in New York at the prestigious Explorers Club in Manhattan.  The decision to launch in New York, the largest journalistic power in the world, will ensure more people learn about the wonders of Costa Rica. The documentary will be shown on 650 television channels transmitted to millions of homes in the United States and Canada.

Juan Carlos Borbon, General Manager of the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism (I.C.T) said he was convinced that the, “ The incomparable work of Richard Bangs will leave such a great impression that it will boost the positioning of our country as a tourist destination as well as the ideal way to experience a complete adventure in a sustainable destination.”

Richard Bangs, known as the founder of modern adventure travel, has visited Costa Rica nine times. He has written over 1000 articles, 16 books and produced over 20 documentaries. In an article published in the New York Times in February 2006 Bangs affirms that, “Costa Rica is the only country that I will always return to.”
