The Nightlife of Manuel Antonio and Quepos is always changing so talk with your host about for the most up-to-date recommendations and… have a great time!

So your team is playing during your vacation and you’d like some food, a drink or two, and a bit of a crowd during the game? Yolo Social is a great spot for a fun evening out. It features large-screen TVs, billiard tables and the only casino in Manuel Antonio / Costa Rica is in the hotel right next door.

Enjoy a bit of a flutter

If casinos are your thing, downtown Quepos / Costa Rica has a larger option at the Best Western Hotel Kamuk. There are various slot machines and tables including blackjack and roulette. The next block along on the oceanfront is El Gran Escape – a nice restaurant where the outdoor tables are almost always full. Ask them to grill your catch if you had a productive day of fishing and enjoy large televisions throughout.

Two of our favorite bar-restaurants in Quepos are a bit further along. Bahia Azul is a great local place on the waterfront and Bar y Restaurante Marlin is on the first block as you get into town. Right next door to this is Cafe Milagro – a great spot for an afternoon coffee. There is another Cafe Milagro up the hill in Manuel Antonio which is also an excellent place for dinner.

Trivia night every Thursday at 7pm is at Balu Restaurant in downtown Quepos: Thinkin’ and Drinkin’ is free for teams to enter. Hosted by locals and newcomers are always welcome. The winning team get a pizza and beers on the house !

Visit the luxury world-class marina

A night out at the stylish Marina Pez Vela is always a great idea. You’ll find some great restaurants and sports bars here – more places to watch the game. Enjoy a nice grilled mahi-mahi while enjoying beautiful views of the boats swaying on the water. These places may also cook up the fish you caught earlier. There are a few nice shops to explore here too.

Live music and dancing in Manuel Antonio

If you fancy some live music you’re in luck! There is a great mix of local bands, Djs and solo artists that perform on various nights throughout the week. Some popular spots include Hotel La Colina (wood fired pizza and live music on Wednesdays and Sundays), Drunken Monkey, El Ranchito at Hotel Plinio (Live Music on Fridays), Si Como No, and Restaurante Buru Seaside which is actually down on Manuel Antonio beach.

There are also a few hot spots to hit the dance floor throughout the week including Cuban Republik Disco Lounge in Quepos. Ape Eclectic Social Bar offers the very best in nightlife of Manuel Antonio (delicious tapas, music and a cool vibe).

You can find details on what’s going on during your stay by picking up a copy of “Quepolandia”. This is a great little monthly publication detailing where local expatriates are hanging out. It includes live music and disco scheduling and listings as well as lots of other local info.

Maybe you’ll have a go at a bit of salsa dancing. Maybe you just want to chill with good company and some laid-back live music at dinner. The nightlife of Manuel Antonio certainly has it all covered. After a long lazy day of soaking up the sun by the pool… it’s time to freshen up and hit the town with friends and family for a memorable night out. And if you need a shuttle for a larger group to get you somewhere, be sure to give your host an hour’s notice.
