In the world of luxury home rentals, this 10-bedroom, 10-full-baths villa in Costa Rica is a gem. Situated in a gorgeous part of the tropics that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and world renowned Manuel Antonio National Park, seclusion and complete privacy are yours. Some of the area’s best restaurants and white sand beaches are situated less than a mile away.

The Grand Entry Level

A 12,000 sq. ft., 4-level villa—appointed throughout with rarefied woods, travertine marble, limestone, glass, terrazzo, tile work, and copper—is divided into two wings. The entrance area sets the stage. A wall of water cascades next to the front door, providing a beach-rinsing foot bath. Just inside the almond wood front door, a papyrus water garden sits in an oval, glass-bottom pond which looks down into the game room.

Perfect for large parties, the entry level hosts a 1,000 sq. Ft. grand salon—complete with a faux crocodile-topped bar where you can mix up your preferred drinks and ample seating areas, flat screen TV, and stereo system—and two outdoor living rooms. There are indoor and outdoor dining rooms (each seating 12) as well. A completely equipped, stainless steel and granite, restaurant-quality gourmet kitchen is separated from the dining area by a cabinet wall and window, through which you can glimpse your private chef in action. The entry level also includes a BBQ, two half baths, a hotel-size infinity edge pool, and a huge, 20-person, solar-heated whirlpool.

This villa was designed to embrace an indoor outdoor lifestyle and to create a central living space that brings the outdoors inside. The layout and open air doors allows guests to enjoy the surrounding nature without the need for air conditioning.  

The Bedrooms

The upper level, with its covered balconies, has a large master suite and three more master bedrooms, all very private overlooking either ocean or jungle with their own bathrooms. The master suite, boasting peerless ocean and rain forest views, a luxury king-size bed (with 500-count Egyptian cotton bedding, feather and hypo-allergenic pillows), a bar and dressing area with a full vanity. The spa-like master bath features a platform shower with a rain shower head hanging from a 12-foot bamboo ceiling. The opposite is a huge, turquoise-glass bathtub, and a separate toilet and bidet. If that is not enough your suite also features a private balcony lounge area.

The two lower levels feature a second master suite and five additional guest suites—each with its own bath and all air-conditioned.  The second master suite boasts all of the same amenities as the first, though it is encased it lush tropical rain forest. Four of the guest suites have a king each and one has 2 twins and a twin day bed, the two twins can be converted to a king. All the bedrooms are custom decorated for luxury and relaxation, with tropical soaps and bathrobes, and steel safes for valuables.

The Spa

Our in-house spa offers three fully equipped treatment rooms in a nurturing tropical environment where you can relax your body, revitalize your mind, and renew your spirit! Schedule some private pampering, a couples massage, or let your troubles melt away with a bridal-party spa session. Available in-house spa services include deep-tissue, reflexology, and Thai massage, thermal mud wraps, chocolate/coffee body scrubs, and tropical enzyme polishes.

The Game Room, Gym and Cinema

Come on down to the lower level for some fun and fitness! The game room has a regulation-size pool table, Foosball, ping pong, darts, and is lined on one side with banquette seating and ocean views. The 500 sq. Ft. air-conditioned gym hosts two stationary bikes, an electronic treadmill, dial weights, a Universal machine, mats, ball, and space for private training, yoga, and Pilates classes. The air-conditioned cinema, with tiered sofa seating for 26, has a digital projector, and a large fridge and microwave for popcorn and snacks.

Flora and Fauna

Wildlife is abundant in Manuel Antonio and includes monkeys, sloths, kinkajou’s, butterflies, and several species of exotic birds. The grounds of Casa Fantastica are planted with tropical specimens which encourage wildlife visits, and the views from the entire house are designed to make the most of this fantastic setting. It is not uncommon to have monkeys swing down by the pool for a quick hello.  The grand salon features a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, 30 feet up, overlooking this rain forest panorama.

Wedding Tent and Dance Floor

To create a party in paradise, our elegant wedding tent with wooden dance floor may be set up on the grass lawn. A brocade valance with silk tassels in ivory and natural linen will complement any color scheme. Two 42″ puka-shell chandeliers complement candlelight in the evening hours. With room for 70 diners and dancers, the tent can accommodate a live band, a DJ, or your own iPod/iPad music.

Staff and Services

Casa Fantastica has two housekeepers on staff six days a week to take care of all of your cleaning needs. There is also a gardener and a pool man, and a handyman on 24-hour call. A private chef is included for two meals a day, though the cost of food and drinks is additional. We can also offer you meal plans to include the food and drinks; please ask us for details. Our concierge and host can arrange some of the best Costa Rican tours, transportation, and in-house spa services, and can answer any questions you may have about this beautiful part of the world.
